Shaily Mahendra presents an innovative way of using natural resources to both detect pollution and reverse its effects in this bioremediation benefits speech.
The researcher and environmentalist uses microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi that exist on a contaminated site to monitor the toxicity level of the polluted area. These organisms are a biological part of the ecosystem and as such, are a more cost-effective way to treat contaminated groundwater and terrain as no additional components need to be carted to the site.
An additional benefit to using these naturally occurring microorganisms is their detoxifying characteristics that can be harnessed to help return a polluted area to it's original state.
This bioremediation benefits speech details the process of both monitoring the toxicity level of an area and then using biological life forms to return the area to a non-polluted state using a natural method.
