From the Power of Positivity to Maximizing Life Over Income

— April 25, 2013 — Eco
Finding happiness in life -- whether through professional, personal or spiritual means -- is the focus of this collection of speeches. Featuring speakers of all ages and from a wide range of industries and professions, these speeches offer new ways of measuring happiness as well as how to prioritize one's life.

Jana Fonda, who spoke at a TEDx Women's event, discusses the importance of not going into life and its different phases with a set mentality. She believes that many people fear aging and becoming older and therefore enter that period of their lives close-minded. Fonda encourages people to see aging as a potential to continue to grow and learn, as opposed to a period of decline.

Mike Dickson's happiness keynote focuses on the concept of "enough." He believes that by asking yourself what is "enough" has the power to transform your life. He encourages people to live more simply so that others may simply live, for people to create a world and not acquire it; and to live in a world of you and me, and not you or me.

Finding happiness in life means different things for different individuals, but these speeches provide different perspectives, inspiring stories as well as ways to measure happiness in the modern world.
