While the world has long since been divided into independent entities separated by well-defined borders, this disintegration of distinct nations keynote by Juan Enriquez suggests that those lines are being altered at a rapid rate.

Throughout the course of history there has been a constant re-evaluation of borders and war and economic decline or prosperity have been two of the factors responsible for shifting territorial distinctions. Small countries and cities are overtaken by larger, more powerful ones that cause border lines to constantly be redrawn and maps to be altered.
