Rose George’s health sanitation speech informs people about the taboo subject matter of fecal defication in her health sanitation speech. Being able to go to the toilet is a common luxury that’s present in most developed countries, but that privilege often times taken for granted as well.
At least 2.5 billion people in the world don’t have access to an adequate toilet, which is about 40% of the world’s population. The common luxury of having a toilet that people in developed countries have is facet of life that many people in developing countries have learned to live without. In doing so most of these people have acquired the practice of open defection.
Throughout her research George has discovered the numerous and grave impacts of not having a sanitary means of fecal excretion. The impacts range from common matters such as health, but also ranges from economical and educational issues.
