Klaus Stadlmann's keynote spotlights his ingenious idea to create the world's smallest 3D printer. The idea came to Stadlmann while he was studying for his PhD at Vienna's Technical University when he suddenly had plenty of free time thanks to a malfunctioning laser machine in his lab.
After only three months in the lab, Klaus Stadlmann completed the first prototype of the 3D printer and it was successful in creating three-dimensional objects according to inputted data. Klaus Stadlmann's 3D printer can be used to create a wide range of products with incredible precision. Using synthetic resin, small objects are printed with millions of small layers created by exposure to light. This innovative technology can be used to create many small, customized items in a quicker and more cost-effective manner than traditional 3D printers. Klaus Stadlmann explains how the technology in his 3D printer can be used to produce hearing aids with perfectly customized shells in only one day.
