Examining Collaborative Leadership

Speaker Bill George's leader speech examines leadership and compares it to management. George points out that these two things are not the same. Management requires a certain set of skills, but leadership is about being able to inspire and empower one's fellow employees.

George says that the potential to be a great leader exists within everyone. At the same time, he doesn't believe that leadership can be taught like any other subject. He states that leaders can share their personal experiences and people can learn how to lead that way, but it's not like teaching a traditional subject.

George claims that the world needs more giving leaders, which is what he's tried to be. He also states that leaders must collaborate with fellow employees to help empower them. He believes that leaders should bring out the ability to lead in others.
