The Angela Lee Duckworth keynotes highlight the factors that breed success.
As a teacher, Duckworth has first-hand experience with regards to the educational development of students and the factor, which go into culminating a successful educational career. She taught mathematics to students at public schools across San Francisco, Philadelphia and New York. Duckworth's research work is focused on determining how “girt” is a better indicator for success, contrary to factors such as IQ and social stature. Prior to becoming an educator, Duckworth was a Managing Consultant at McKinsey.
She received her Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. She also has a BA in Neurobiology from Harvard and has a Masters in Neuroscience from Oxford. She founded a non-profit summer school for low-income families that received the Better Government Award for the state of Massachusetts.
