He is also a member of the FBI's Infragard Program and is the Region 5 Chairman of several frederal and state level associations and councils within the Department of Interior.
After retiring from active duty, Schmitt worked in a variety of capacities, including a senior executive at Target and a Global Portfolio Executive at Jones Lang LaSalle Real Estate Investment Firm.
