Ellen Jorgensen's keynotes predominantly focus on science and scientific literacy within the community.
She is currently President & Scientific Program Director at Genspace NYC. Genspace is a nonprofit organization which advocates for access to science and biotechnology among normal citizens. Jorgensen's keynotes also often reflect this mission.
At Genspace she teaches courses and workshops in molecular and synthetic biology. She also collaborates with science education organizations to conceptualize improved science teaching methodologies in all levels of education.
Dr. Jorgensen has a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the Sackler Institute at New York University School of Medicine. She's also conducted protein structure/function research at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn, New York.
For eight years she held the position of Director of Biomarker Discovery and Development at Vector Research.
