The Universal Voice of Social Media

From Sheryl Sandberg to Marissa Mayer

— April 18, 2014 —
The recent increase in women in technology speaks volume of the strides we are making in equality, but there is still much ground to be covered. This collection of speeches shines the spotlight on some of the inspiring women who are paving the path for women in tech. Some of these women such as Sheryl Sandberg and Marissa Mayer are executives at massive social media networks and serve as great examples for young women everywhere.

The talk by Marissa Mayer, the CEO of Yahoo!, discusses the importance of leaders being able to prioritize an agenda. Many consumers don't know what they want in a brand's next product -- and they shouldn't. She believes that tech companies need to be competitive and adaptable enough to create a product and push it forward.

Heather Payne's speech educates the audience of the organization she started that teaches young girls how to code software. Not only did Payne take a chance when she set out to build this organization, but the result is now empowering and education girls everywhere.

These videos are inspiring for women looking to pursue careers in technology as well as any others because they demonstrate what hard work and determination can achieve.
