Van Jones' keynotes build on his work as an environmental advocate and advisor to the Obama administration. Originally educated as an attorney, Jones is the co-founder of four non-profit organizations: Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, Green For All and Rebuild The Dream.
President Obama named Jones the Special Advisor for Green Jobs in 2009. He was the first person to ever hold this position. Jones is also the author of two books: Rebuild The Dream and The Green Collar Economy.
Well decorated to say the least, he's received countless awards and accolades including Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2009, the NAACP's Image Award, Rolling Stones' 12 Leaders Who Get Things Done in 2012, Ebony Magazine's Power 150 in 2011 and the World Economic Forum Young Global Leader award.
He also sits on the board of the National Resource Defense Council (NRDC), Presidio and Center for America’s Future and Demos.
