In this moving presentation concerning innovation and invention, 19-year-old William Kamkwamba tells the attendees of this event how he was able to build a windmill for his family that would produce electricity to their home. He did this by modifying another version he read about in a library book and then fashioned his own windmill invention out of spare parts he had.
In this inspiring video, William shows that anything is possible with the right tools and an education, and reveals his plan to build a second, larger windmill that could produce enough energy to supply irrigation to the crops of his whole village. William Kamkwamba also talks about his continued interest in the energy field and how he desires to work in this industry in the future.
