From Feminism-Advocating Males to Generation Gap Strategies

— May 15, 2015 — Keynote Trends
These talks discuss the need for challenging stereotypes, from diversity in the workplace to gender equality and the disabled. While some may argue some stereotypes exist because they are at least loosely based on the truth, these speeches generally argue that it's necessary to keep an open mind. When we pigeon-hold each other we do a disservice not just to each other, but to ourselves.

The original definition of feminism refers to the equality of the sexes, but some see feminists as an angry collective of man-haters. Actress Emma Watson tries to dispel this notion in her gender equality speech on feminism-advocating males. In an African stereotypes speech, Panashe Chigumadzi discusses the negative portrayal of South Africans in the media. This also reflects a larger issue of race.

When it comes to the workplace, gender and race comes into play, as does challenging stereotypes placed on the millennial generation. In his talk about millennials, Keevin O'Rourke dismantles some of the perceptions employers might have about the next generation of workers.
